Behind the Design
Westmoreland grew out of a simple question: what would it look like if a Craftsman lantern had a second story? The answer became the series' signature illuminated cupola, a small glowing roofline perched above the tapered lantern body below.
Each fixture is hand-assembled in our Southern California factory, where the overlay artwork is cut and applied to the lantern body before it goes through finishing. It's a detail rooted in the broader Arts & Crafts belief that even the smallest structure deserves proportion and craft, not just function.
Where This Belongs
A two-story silhouette needs a little visual room to read as intentional rather than crowded. Westmoreland fixtures tend to look most at home on porches and entries with some vertical clearance where the cupola has space to sit as its own distinct element rather than pressing up against a low eave.
If your home's roofline is already busy (deep eaves, multiple gables, heavy trim), a simpler single-tier fixture from elsewhere in our collection may serve you better than Westmoreland's two-story form. This one's built to be a focal point. Give it room to be one.

Yes. Many customers choose one overlay for their post and pier lights and a complementary one for interior ceiling or pendant fixtures. There's no requirement to match every piece exactly.
How long does a Westmoreland fixture order take to arrive?
These fixtures are handcrafted to order and typically ship in six to eight weeks. If you're working with a contractor, we recommend you wait to until after your fixtures have arrived to schedule the install time.
Will the finish look the same on every fixture in my order?
Finishes are applied by hand and will develop character naturally over time based on exposure and environment. Fixtures ordered together will start out matching closely, though outdoor and indoor pieces may age at different rates depending on sun and weather exposure.
