Description

The crown jewel of Old California’s Wentworth Avenue Collection, this chandelier is a faithful reproduction of the piece designed by Charles and Henry Greene for the Robinson House in Pasadena, California.

The body’s frame traces luscious and complicated curves in all directions, and the dazzling panels are handcrafted from over 3,400 individually foiled pieces of glass. It floats suspended on double-layered, stitched and dyed leather straps.

There aren’t enough superlatives to capture the rapturous extravagance of this spectacular behemoth of the decorative arts. Your guests’ jaws may drop so far they never come back up.

Assembly

Most fixtures arrive assembled. Some fixtures require a minimal amount of assembly upon arrival.

Installation is easy for the DIYer, handyman or electrician with a standard set of screwdrivers. Larger items may need a couple pairs of hands during installation. If you’re unsure about properly connecting electrical components we recommend you hire a professional to install. Large fixtures mounted to the ceiling may require the customer to supply mounting hardware (like toggle bolts, wood screws and anchors).

Care

Dust lightly with a soft cloth. Use very light pressure when dusting stained glass panels. If glass shades need extra care, detach them and wash in warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cloths and cleaning solutions that contain ammonia.

The Wentworth Avenue Collection

Greene & Greene Design—and Beyond

Two brothers, Charles and Henry Greene, opened an architecture firm in Southern California just after the turn of the 20th century. At the height of their prowess in the Arts & Crafts movement, the homes they designed spread across the country in simpler form as the humble bungalow.

Old California has painstakingly recreated some of the Greene brothers’ most iconic lighting pieces from their ‘ultimate bungalows,’ and we developed our own designs based on our favorites, also.

The Wentworth Avenue collection gathers them into our flagship series—only our most experienced craftspeople have what it takes to create these triumphs of historic design.

Overall height includes the distance between the mounting surface and the lowest point of the fixture (including shades if relevant). We measure overall height in inches. Please note that extended chain length may incur additional charges.

MOUNTING OVER A TABLE

We recommend that the lowest point of the fixture be at least 36” above your table.

Measure your ceiling height, subtract the height of the table (most tables are 30” tall), then subtract the distance above the table you want the fixture to hang. The resulting number is your overall height. Enlarge the graphic for a visual explanation.

MOUNTING IN A WALKWAY

We recommend that the lowest point of the fixture be at least 84” above the floor.
