Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer mail slots for doors?

No, unfortunately we can't manufacture these because sizes are not standardized.

Wall Mount Mailboxes

Are the magazine racks the same finish if I add it on?

Yes!

Can I add a locking door on after my mailbox arrives?

Unfortunately no, the construction is slightly different, and so it must be selected when you place your order.

Which size mailbox is right for me?

  • Vertical mailboxes are ideal for narrow spaces, like between doors and windows or on a porch column. Larger mail items will need to be rolled up to fit inside.
  • Horizontal mailboxes fit most standard mail, though larger sized items will need to be rolled up to fit inside.
  • Large mailboxes have the height of the vertical mailboxes and the width of the horizontal. Large mail usually fits inside with the lid closed.

How high should I mount my mailbox?

The USPS recommends the bottom of your mailbox fall between 41 and 45 inches off the ground to ensure easy access for you and your mail carrier.

Can I add a flag to my wall mount mailbox after it arrives?

Yes, we offer a sliding option you can attach yourself.

How can I mount my mailbox to a fence?

A word of caution, first. Wall mount mailboxes are best mounted under eaves or cover of some kind. If not, we recommend adding on the rain insert option when you place your order so that your mail is better protected from inclement weather.

That said, they are a delightful addition to fences. You simply need to mount your mailbox to a separate piece of flat material first (e.g., a piece of wood that covers the height and width of all the mounting holes), and then mount that material to your fence. This ensures a level mount with enough space for the lid to open and close properly.

Why is my mail wet?

Wall mount mailboxes are best mounted with some protection from the weather, under your eaves or other cover. If that's not possible, or you want more protection, we recommend you add the rain insert option when placing your order.

How do I light up my mailbox?

Sometimes you just gotta show off that beautiful glass artwork! The best option is DIY. We recommend battery powered lights or strips from a hardware store that you can turn on manually or place on a timer.

Post Mount Mailboxes

Do you have locking doors for post mount mailboxes?

Unfortunately, no.

Do you sell posts for the post mount mailboxes?

Not yet, but we're working on it! In the meantime, your local hardware store can help you find something suitable.

Why isn't a flag included with the post mount mailbox by default?

Over the years customers have told us 1) they don't want to signal the status of their mail to the neighborhood and 2) their mail carriers don't always adjust the flag after coming by. So, we've made the flag an optional add on.

Can I add a flag to my post mount mailbox after it arrives?

Yes, we offer a sliding option that's easy to attach yourself.

Can I add my address numbers to the post mount mailbox?

Yes, this is a custom order. Please call us at 800.577.6679.

How do I mount my mailbox?

There are a set of holes on the bottom of the mailbox that allow for a couple of different mounting configurations to your existing post or to a new one. We can't guarantee they're a perfect match for your current setup, but if they aren't it's easy to adjust. Simply mark on the bottom of the mailbox where you need to insert your mounting points and then drill holes at those marks. Because we don't know what your mounting location is going to be we don't supply mounting hardware.
