Message from the Artist: For many paintings in my Arts & Crafts Motto series, I start with a solid panel, then add a sculptural molding compound to create the effects of peeling plaster for the background. I want every part of my painting to have purpose and texture.
I had been focusing on effort and the true meaning behind the word. I was searching for the perfect quote in my research, and I just couldn't find it out there, so I wrote this poem. Many times, I meditate and use my own personal philosophy in my work, and this is an example of just that.
