Message from the Artisty: This acrylic painting is inspired by hammered & hewn metal from the early 1900s. I start with a solid panel, then add a sculptural molding compound to create the effects of metal backgrounds. I want every part of my painting to have purpose and texture. The beautiful Heintz vases from the early 1900s inspired the texture and design of my painting.
As a Master Roycroft Artisan, I have always been drawn to the life and work of Elbert Hubbard. He was a leader, teacher, and visionary that still inspires artists and art lovers today.
