Message from the Artist: For many paintings in my Arts & Crafts Motto Series, I start with a solid panel, then add a sculptural molding compound to create the effects of plaster or stucco for the background. I want every part of my painting to have purpose and texture.
As a Roycroft Master Artisan, I have always been drawn to the life and work of Elbert Hubbard. He was a leader, teacher, and visionary that still inspires artists and art lovers today. Dard Hunter was a talented designer and artist that worked closely with Hubbard, and I will always be inspired by his work.
