The team from the Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone National Park tasked us with reproducing one of their original rustic light fixtures. We rebuilt it—paying special attention to the base designed by the Limbert Furniture Co.— and developed new options for your home as well.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
National Park History in Your Home
In the early 2000s the staff at the Old Faithful Inn asked us to reproduce the metal shade from the lamps illuminating their writing desks. The originals that dotted the lodge were constructed in 1904 by the Limbert Furniture Company. In our design process we reduced its size and added side skirts to the shade to better hide the bulbs. We also matched exactly the original spruce tree pattern and rested it on a base that matches the original Limbert design. But we couldn’t stop there! We liked it so much we expanded it into a full series, including a chandelier that’s a perfect fit for your rustic look.
