1912 Transitional Arts & Crafts - Dining Room Chandelier
1912 Transitional Arts & Crafts - Dining Room Chandelier
The Monk Head Chandelier is something we have been wanting to reproduce and when Brett told us he had a 1912 Arts and Crafts dining room that needed a chandelier we knew he would like the idea of recreating this treasured antique. We recast the jovial monk face that is one of seven that are based after the seven deadly sins. The body of the fixture is created with heavy 1/8" brass plates we hand hammered and mounted the face on all four sides. The original design was built in brass and steel by multiple lighting artists back in the early 1900s. We study all of the designs and selected one that had coordinating hammered lanterns suspended from wide hooks and exposed wire. We even made a new chain to match the original design.
