This beautiful and graceful Luster Art Glass table lamp with a Cherry Blossom design is hand blown by renowned glass artisan Carl Radke.  Carl Radke has been blowing glass since 1970 and is one of only a few glassblowers out of thousands in the United States who continues to work in this difficult and traditional glass. Carl must be a chemist as well as a craftsman to work successfully in this medium. 

Each lamp is signed and dated by Radke to assure authenticity and to retain its future collector value. The Cherry Blossom design fits perfectly with the large glass shade and slender base and will certainly become a cherished family heirloom. 

Each lamp is wired with a twin pull chain socket assembly in the top shade and it also has a small hidden bulb in the lamp base.  All of the solid brass hardware is finished in a warm bronze finish and LED bulbs are provided for both the top lamp shade and the lamp base.

Luster Art Glass was originated by Louis Tiffany in 1881 and was popular during the early part of the twentieth century. By the mid 1920’s Luster Art Glass had fallen out of favor and practically became a lost art.  Art programs at several California universities began to rekindle an interest in glassblowing and in Luster Art Glass specifically in the latter part of the 1960’s.

Luster Glass is a very specialized glassblowing medium.  Because of the silver content in the glass, it has always been one of the most costly forms of glass ever produced.  In addition to the high cost of the raw materials used in Luster Glass, other factors prevent this volatile studio glass from being mass produced in a large factory environment.

Shipping

Our standard product line ships within six weeks from date of order. We ship our products exclusively by UPS ground with no added handling fees. Shipments of our products to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or Canada are available by special request. Contact us at ocsales@oldcalifornia.com to make arrangements and receive a special freight quote.

Damage Claims

We take great pride in utilizing quality packing methods; however, we realize that our products may occasionally be damaged in shipping. Upon receiving your order, inspect your cartons immediately and note any damage when signing for the shipment. Open every box immediately. Damage is not always obvious. Even if you do not intend to install your fixture(s) right away, you must inspect it immediately. If you elect not to open a box for a period of time longer than 5 business days, you are assuming responsibility for any damages that may have occurred. If your schedule does not allow for timely inspection, please contact us to make suitable arrangements. In the unlikely event you encounter a problem with your order, please notify us within 5 business days. Save all cartons and packing material until your claim is resolved. E-mail your claim to crichard@oldcalifornia.com.

Returns

We want you to be fully satisfied with your lighting fixtures. We rarely receive returns from our customers because we work closely with you at the beginning of the selection to assure that the correct fixture is ordered. We encourage you to take advantage of our “sample program” and qualified staff if you are not confident with the specifics of your order. We can also send you a full scale CAD drawing showing all of the dimensions of your fixture selection.

Each of our products are manufactured to your specifications from thousands of configurations, thus, returned items are subject to a 25% restock charge plus shipping costs back to the factory. Contact jdack@oldcalifornia.com to discuss the details and acquire a return goods authorization, (RGA). Lighting fixtures will not be accepted by our Receiving Department without an (RGA) number. To return an item, it must be returned to Old California within three weeks of the ship date freight prepaid. (No Exceptions) Returned items must be received by us in original condition with original packaging and must not have been installed. Pack the item carefully in the original packaging, in the manner that it was shipped. Items that have been damaged during return shipment are the buyer's responsibility. For your protection, please obtain insurance on items being returned.
