"Luster Art Glass” Small Table Lamp with Cherry Blossom Design (3011-71)

3011-71 Cherry Blossom

This petite sized Luster Art Glass table lamp with a Cherry Blossom design is hand blown to order by renowned glass artisan Carl Radke.  Carl Radke has been blowing glass since 1970 and is one of only a few glassblowers out of thousands in the United States who continues to work in this difficult and traditional glass. Carl must be a chemist as well as a craftsman to work successfully in this medium.

This petite table lamp is perfect for that small desk, side table or night stand and is signed and dated by Radke to assure authenticity and to retain its future collector value. The Cherry Blossom design fits perfectly with the domed shape shade and slender base and will certainly become a cherished family heirloom.

Each lamp is wired with a single socket in the top shade and is supplied with an LED lamp.  All of the solid brass hardware is finished in a warm bronze finish.

Lustre Art Glass was originated by Louis Tiffany in 1881 and was popular during the early part of the twentieth century. By the mid 1920’s Lustre Art Glass had fallen out of favor and practically became a lost art.  Art programs at several California universities began to rekindle an interest in glassblowing and in Lustre Art Glass specifically in the latter part of the 1960’s.

Lustre Glass is a very specialized glassblowing medium.  Because of the silver content in the glass, it has always been one of the most costly forms of glass ever produced.  In addition to the high cost of the raw materials used in Lustre Glass, other factors prevent this volatile studio glass from being mass produced in a large factory environment.

"Luster Art Glass” Small Table Lamp with Cherry Blossom Design

I ordered this lamp as a gift for my wife.

It is an absolute work of art and beautiful in it's detail.

Old California came through in every way.

Great product, safely packaged and shipped and lightning fast turn around.

We look forward to our future transactions with this great American company!
