Snow Woodworks - Limbert Side Table

Snow Woodworks in Hesperia, CA built this custom piece, and several others for the homeowner to fit in with the design and construction of their Arts and Crafts home.  When the home was being given its final design touches, Britta with Red Rooster Vintage explained to James she needed a small end table in the Arts and Crafts style and James had a great piece he had been reproducing - a Limbert style end table.

This end table is built in the style of Charles Limbert, an American furniture manufacturer and designer in the early 20th century.  Limbert was a contemporary of Gustav Stickley and is best known for pieces created in the style of the American Arts and Crafts movement, with his most celebrated works made of solid quarter sawn oak and possessing simple, clean lines and unique cutouts.  This end table is constructed of solid quarter sawn white oak and is assembled utilizing mortise and tenon joinery.  Quarter sawn lumber is known for its stability and in the case of oak (Red or White) for the unique medullary rays (or flecks) that show up when the lumber is sawn in this manner, as you can see in the photos. This piece has a matching double oval coffee table that it also pairs well with.
